Grocery delivery firm Instacart has now expanded its partnership with retail giant Aldi to 35 states across the U.S. in time for a holiday spending season after its pilot program in 4 cities proved “overwhelmingly positive,” as stated by Instacart CEO Apporva Mertha.

Instacart users in 35 states and across 5,000 ZIP codes will now be able to fill their carts with Aldi groceries for delivery by Instacart’s grocers.

Aldi and Instacart initially entered into an agreement last fall with programs beginning in the cities of Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles with a following entry into the Chicago region marking its fourth city. This delivery partnership now being pushed to major markets including San Diego, New York and Miami in time for the U.S. holiday of Thanksgiving in late November.

Aldi kicked off a $5 billion expansion plan last year to remodel and increase its U.S. footprint to 2,500 stores by 2022 amid addition of new services with this Instacart deal being part of its moves.

The retail giant isn’t the only among its peers putting more efforts into partnerships with various startups with Kroger recently taking on an autonomous delivery partnership with Nuro last month and NY based wholesale startup Boxed taking on a $100 million strategic round led by Japanese mega-retailer Aeon also last month.
