Electric car upstart Lucid Motors has finally formally debuted the Lucid Air, revealing a vehicle with versions that go for from as low as around $80,000 up to $169,000, with deliveries set to begin in the second quarter of next year. The Lucid Air comes in four versions; the plain Lucid Air, Lucid Air Touring; Lucid Air Grand Touring; and Lucid Air Dream Edition. Respectively, they’ll cost around $80,000, $95,000, $139,000, and $169,000 to customers, not taking into account tax credits usually reserved for electric car purchases. The plain Lucid Air will not actually be available until 2022. The Air Grand Touring and the Air Dream Edition are the first that’ll become available in the second quarter of next year, while the Air Touring is slated for deliveries in the fourth quarter.
Notable features of the Lucid Air include fast charging at claimed rates of up to 20 miles per minute, a custom driver-assistance system, and a luxury interior that comes with a 34-inch curved glass display and Amazon Alexa compatibility. Reservations for the Lucid Air have been opened across the US and Canada along with select countries in Europe and the Middle East. The Lucid Air and its other variants can be reserved with a $1,000 refundable deposit, save for the Air Dream Edition which is open to reservations with a $7,500 refundable deposit.
Lucid Motors has made plans for a network of 20 sales and service centers across North America that’ll handle sales of its vehicles.
