An acquisition of Israeli cloud company CloudEndure has been confirmed by Amazon Web Services marking its first deal of the year on which it reportedly beat Google to, snapping up CloudEndure for about $250 million according to Israeli business news site Globes.

“As an AWS Advanced Technology Partner since 2016, CloudEndure has long joined forces to help customers future-proof their businesses. This acquisition expands our ability to deliver innovative and flexible migration, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.” CloudEndure said on its website.

Founded in 2012 by Ofer Gadish, Gil Shai, Ofir Ehrlich and Leonid Feinberg, CloudEndure had raised $18.2 million in total in three rounds according to Crunchbase. It counts cloud partnerships with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and VMware and an impressive customer list including PayPal, Toyota, HP, Equinox, Koch Industries, Broadcom, Infosys, Infor, Home Depot and Motorola.

Investors in CloudEndure include Dell, VMware, Infosys, EG Capital Advisors and Magma Venture Partners.
