According to Amazon’s senior vice president of devices and services, Dave Limp’s statement to The Verge, Over 100 million Alexa enabled devices have been sold so far which although is smaller in comparison to the Google Assistant or Siri may count as an up for the company as most Alexa-enabled devices are purchased decisively by customers in comparison to the Siri and Google Assistant which come default on Apple products and Android phones.
It wasn’t specified further how many of these devices were Amazon made or designed by third party providers. Limp noted in the interview that the company surpassed its most optimistic expectations for the Echo Dot during the holiday season, stating the company has sold out its Echo Dots despite “pushing pallets of Echo Dots onto 747s and getting them from Hong Kong to here as quickly as we possibly could.”

A 100 million number counts as quite impressive for Amazon which launched Alexa in 2014 and has made it available in 41 countries so far. Markets its entered this year include Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, France, Spain and Mexico.
