Aerospace company SpaceX is in talks to raise about $1 billion in new funding, as first reported [paywall] by Bloomberg. According to Bloomberg, the new funding could value SpaceX at up to $44 billion. Since its inception, SpaceX has raised some $3.5 billion in funding, with its last funding round having taken place just a few months ago. SpaceX is notably fresh off making history as the first private company to send astronauts into space. The company is also racing towards the planned launch of its Starlink internet satellite network.

SpaceX’s most recent funding valued it at $36 billion.
