The C by GE smart bulb now offers integration for voice command with the Google Assistant which enables users to control the smart bulb manufactured by General Electric through the Google Home, Google Home Mini, Google Home Max and Google Home Hub devices.
These C by GE bulbs are currently the only Made for Google bulbs which connects within just one app without the need of a hub and also offers extra savings with a Smart Light Starter Kit.

This new development brings a new level of simplicity for smart light control with the C by GE bulb capable of connecting automatically to a Google Home Product when on. Google Assistant will automatically detect the nearby bulb in the Google Home App and will respond to “Hey Google…” commands to turn on/off, dim and control the bulb in other ways.
Routines and schedules can be set up, lighting can be controlled away from home through the Google Home app which provides smooth compatibility made possible Bluetooth connection between the products. The new feature is available for current Google Assistant and C by GE users without the need for purchase of additional hardware.

“In today’s growing smart home space, easy, seamless connections are more important than ever,” Jeff Patton, GM for Connected Home Product Management, GE Lighting said in a statement “This exclusive lighting collaboration with Google means controlling your lighting with your voice is as simple as screwing in a light bulb, and you also can drive robust outcomes based on your unique routines with custom-set schedules.”
A Smart Light Starter Kit with a Google Mini and C-Life bulb which offers extra savings and is pre-paired for faster installation will be available beginning from the 22nd of October at the Google Store, Best Buy, Lowe’s and Target as well as other online outlets and regional chains.
The Starter Kit goes for $55 while the stand-alone C by GE bulbs which will carry Google Assistant compatibility beginning from the 22nd of October go for $24.99 (for a two-pack C-Life) – $34.99 (for a two-pack C-Sleep).
