Drake breaks Apple Music and Spotify streaming records with new album “Scorpion”

Famous Canadian rapper Drake whose various songs have always topped the music charts and is notable for his just recently released album ‘Scorpion’ which marks his fifth studio album consisting of 25 tracks which features guest appearances from major rapper and also startup investor Jay-Z along with TY Dolla Sign which also counts posthumous appearances from renowned pop artist Michael Jackson and Static Major on the album which has just broken the record for the most album streams ever made in a single day with the album getting over 170 million worldwide streams on just its first day of release.
In addition to this record, The album also racked up over 132 million streams on its first day at Spotify which represents a very huge success for the newly released album which came out on Friday after high anticipation for its release.
The Spotify figure also represents a record breaker with the 132 million first-day streams topping the previous record held by famous recording artist Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys album which was released late April this year.
Scorpion has been predicted to debut at No 1 on the Billboard 200 sometime soon representing a very huge record for the album topping the chart which also includes Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys coming at No 4 and a host of other chart topping albums.
With these huge records representing a very good record for Drake and his connection to many global fans, It also represents the wide adaptation of top music streaming platforms Apple Music and Spotify with both services currently counting over 40 and 70 million paying users currently.
Both Spotify and Apple Music have been racing to increase its user base in recent times, Previous reports have suggested that Apple Music is set to surpass Spotify in the no of paid users coming from the U.S. although Spotify still tops as the foremost global music streaming service which include other major players including Apple’s streaming service, Pandora, SoundCloud, iHeartRadio, Amazon Music, Google Play Music, TuneIn Radio, Shazam and Chinese streaming service NetEase Music which counts over 400 million users amongst other services.
The rise of music streaming services has been seen in very recent happenings which include’s Spotify direct stock exchange listing which represents one of the biggest this year even with no money raised and is currently valued at over $30 Billion (as of writing) on the New York Stock Exchange.
