Facebook has unveiled new details of its expansion plan in the Menlo Park region where the social networking giant is headquartered with a new building dubbed MPK 21 designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry taking the scene.

Built in less than 18 months, The MPK 21 stands as a highly sustainable building with a 3.6 acre rooftop garden featuring over 200 trees and a winding pathway stretching half mile. Its outdoors were also brought to the office space with The Town Square part of the building being a sheltered green space with 40-foot-tall redwood trees while another part, The Bowl stands as an amphitheater-style courtyard connecting MPK 21 with another Gehry-designed building, The MPK 20.
