In plain terms, this is a connected platform for GM vehicles similar to that used by EV manufacturer Tesla. With such platform, GM will be able to push over-the-air updates to add features for customers and also deal with issues that may arise in its vehicles. Thanks to current Ethernet connections of up to 100Mbs, 1Gpbs and 10Gbps, communications between vehicles have been made easier.
The new system will debut on the 2020 Cadillac CT5 sedan.
