Q&A platform Zhihu has now raised another round of funding amounting to a huge $300 million in a Series E investment round which values the company at $2.5 Billion as per several reports.
This valuation stands as an over 2 times jump from its most previous $1 Billion value which it got in it’s Series D round which saw several investors including Tencent, Sinovation Ventures among others take stakes in the company.
It’s currently unclear which investor led this $300 million Series E round but from several reports, It’s said to be a new investor in the company who led the round along with other participants who are returning investors in the company.
Zhihu can be described as the Quora of the Chinese region with both companies maintaining similar Q&A services while deriving most of its revenue from advertising with Zhihu currently boasting of 160 million registered users on its platform.
Quora based out of Mountain View, California reported over 200 million monthly unique visitors as of last year and is currently valued at $1.8 Billion while having raised over 200 million in capital.
Zhihu’s total funding now adds up to $485 million which stands as a very noteworthy and huge statistic in the Unicorn space.
