New York based major venture capital firm Insight Venture Partners notable for various investments and exits in several technology companies including Twitter, Chegg, Fanatics, Shopify, Wix, Shutterstock, Pluralsight and many other notable portfolios has now closed on what is its largest fund yet with $6.3 Billion now committed for its Fund X which will be geared to further its investments and growth equity technology investment engine.

This new fund now boosts the assets under management by IVP to $23 Billion cementing its status as one of the largest VC funds and notable for its software-focused investment strategy.

Insight Venture Partners joins the likes of other major VC firms which have raised huge funding in recent times which includes the likes of Sequioa Capital which just late last month closed $6 Billion out of a targeted $8 Billion for its new investment fund and Softbank’s behemoth $100 Billion Vision Fund which has already deployed over $20 Billion of capital to various technology startups.

With the rise of VC investment as of late and the influence of Softbank’s very huge fund has seen several other VCs step up their game raising large amounts of capital to deploy to several technology startups.

“The closing of Fund X is a historic moment in Insight Venture Partners’ 20 plus year history, demonstrating continued confidence by our global investors in our ability to invest in industry-leading software companies,” said Jeff Horing (pictured above), Co-Founder and Managing Director of Insight Venture Partners.

IVP has been a major investor in the technology space with the VC firm already participating in 2 investment rounds this month and around 13 last month leading as many as 11 out of the 13 rounds of which Jama Software’s $200 million investment round late last month led by Insight last month is a part of.

Insight Venture Partners previously also closed a huge fund 3 years ago with the firm’s Fund IX raising a total of $5 Billion for an investment and a related growth buyout fund which the company has deployed in several startup investments.
