Insight Partners, the renowned private equity and venture capital firm, has raised $448 million for a new investment fund as indicated by a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC). The new fund is named the “Insight Partners Opportunities Fund I” and as usual will be used to invest in companies.

Insight Partners began raising the new fund in August this year and now seems to have completed its target. The new fundraising follows a mammoth $9.5 billion fund that the firm closed in April this year, a fund through which it committed to making investments of between $10 million and $350 million in private companies.

Altogether, Insight Partners is one of the biggest venture capital firms and has invested over $19 billion into companies since its founding in 1995. The company operates as a venture capital firm and also a private equity firm, given that it invests in but also acquires some companies outright. Throughout its history, Insight Partners has scored many big venture wins, including recent ones such as JFrog, nCino, and Pluralsight.

With its new $448 million fund, Insight will make both early-stage and growth-stage investments.
