Renowned cloud computing company Salesforce has now agreed to an acquisition of 6 year old Marketing Intelligence startup Datorama for a reported price of over $800 million in an effort to boost Salesforce’s analytical capabilities with the addition of Datorama’s AI powered marketing intelligence services to its ecosystem.
This acquisition marks the 52nd made by Salesforce since its start with the cloud computing software company notable for several acquisitions which include a $6.5 Billion of MuleSoft March this year, An $800 million acquisition of cloud-based software company Krux Digital October 2016 and a $2.8 Billion acquisition of DemandWare the same year.
Datorama had raised $50 million prior to this acquisition from several investor including Innovation Endeavour and Lightspeed Ventures, the VC firm notable for very successful bets on Snapchat and Stitch Fix amongst others.
Datorama currently counts over 3,000 customers including the likes of IBM, GoDaddy, FourSquare, Ticketmaster, Pepsico and Unilever in addition to several notable names and is currently based out of Israel.
This deal marks another major win in the Israeli technology and the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) space in total with Datorama making a huge exit in the space of six years after its start.
Datorama currently counts 400 employees and will now be part of Salesforce which has been on a long-lasting growth with hugely increasing revenues and record breaking quarters which has seen the company’s stock shoot up 64% since last year with Salesforce stock trading at around $147 (as of writing) with a market cap of over $100 Billion.
