Samsung has unveiled a newest addition to its Galaxy smartwatch line-up: the Galaxy Watch Active2. The new smartwatch features Samsung’s signature rotating bezel, which can be used to control it through clockwise and counter-clockwise turns. The rotating bezel had been a unique feature of Samsung’s smartwatches for years, but wasn’t available in the Galaxy Watch Active, the preceding model to the Active2, which was released just six months ago.
But unlike earlier Samsung smartwatches that came with a physically rotating dial, the Active2 went a step further with a touch sensitive strip that lets users control the smartwatch when they run their finger over it.
The Galaxy Watch Active2 has LTE connectivity to allow users make and receive calls freely. It also now supports real-time voice and text translation in more than 16 languages. Other of its features include:
- Wireless charging support
- Tizen OS
- 247mAh/340mAh batteries [depending on the model]
- Corning Gorilla Glass display
- Aluminum/Stainless Steel casing
- An Exynos 9110 processor
- An Electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor [along with several other sensors]
- LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-fi, and Near-field communication (NFC) support
- 768MB RAM and 4GB storage [Bluetooth model], 1.5GB RAM and 4GB storage [LTE model]
- Android and iOS support.

The Galaxy Watch Active2 comes in two different sizes: 40mm and 44mm diameters, and two styles: lightweight aluminum and solid stainless steel. There are also additional stylish strap and watch-face options for
that want to customize their watches.
The Active2’s 40mm and 44mm models will retail for $280 and $300 respectively. It’ll be made available for purchase on the 27th of September.
