Dutchie, an Oregon-based cannabis delivery startup, has raised $35 million in Series B funding from investors including Starbucks founder Howard Schultz and venture capital firms Thrive Capital, Gron Ventures, Thirty Five Ventures, and Casa Verde Capital, a venture capital firm co-founded by rapper Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus Jr. Casa Verde is a cannabis-focused venture fund that has in the past backed several well-known names in the industry such as Eaze, Trellis, and LeafLink. With Dutchie’s new funding, it’s now raised a total of $53 million in outside funding since its inception.
Founded in 2017, Dutchie has grown to become a leading cannabis ordering platform. It facilitates e-commerce sales for cannabis dispensaries in the US and even claims to power 10% of all cannabis sales in the US. Dutchie is basically a delivery platform for cannabis dispensaries akin to the way food delivery services such as Uber Eats and DoorDash deliver food from restaurants. Currently, the Oregon-based startup says it processes roughly 75,000 orders a day.
Dutchie says it’ll use the new funds to expand its business into new markets and launch major product developments.
