Spaceflight, a Seattle-based aerospace company that specializes in shared space launches, has entered a deal with famed aerospace company SpaceX to launch payloads on several SpaceX launches through the end of 2021. Such a deal is akin to a cargo driver (SpaceX in this case) filling up extra space in his vehicle with cargo (from Spaceflight in this case). Spaceflight’s ride-hopping enables it to provide space launch services to smaller and more cost-conscious customers.

Spaceflight and SpaceX are not new to teaming up with each other. Spaceflight has previously ride-hopped on two SpaceX launches, one in December 2018 and the other in February of last year. The new deal between both companies, however, now happens to cover multiple rides. The first of such rides will be a SpaceX Starlink mission, where Spaceflight is expected to launch two rideshare payloads.

Spaceflight currently works with several space companies. The company has facilitated more than 270 satellite launches since its founding, and its new multi-launch deal with SpaceX apparently means even more launches.
