Anduril Industries, a defense startup based out of Orange Country, California, has unveiled a new version of its stealthy counter drones, this time named the Ghost 4. The Ghost 4, designed and manufactured in the US, is tailored for military customers. It’s capable of real-time intelligence and surveillance operations and with an all-electric powertrain that enables more than 100 minutes of flight time on full charge. The Ghost 4 is autonomous, eliminating the need for serious manpower and pilot skill requirements to operate it. With its unique capabilities, one single operator is capable of controlling large teams of the drone from a single ground control station.

The Ghost 4 is a portable multipurpose drone that can be used on a variety of mission types such as gathering of aerial intelligence, signals intelligence, cargo delivery monitoring, and reconnaissance. The drone is fitted with a gimbal that gives space for the attachment of foreign equipment such as communication relays, loudspeakers, and electronic counter systems. The release of the new drone comes on the heels of Anduril securing a $36 million deal for ‘autonomous surveillance towers’ from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency. Anduril’s drones are usually a part of the stack that makes up its surveillance towers.

Already, previous versions of the Ghost have made its way into operations by the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the U.K. Ministry of Defence. Anduril will now begin to offer the new drones to potential customers.
