BMW has fitted the X5 SUV with additional performance parts targeted for customers who wish to selectively fine-tune the vehicle’s sporty personality and give this aspect for emphasis. The new SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) scheduled for worldwide launch next year has been kit with a new range of its signature M performance parts which include all-terrain wheels, carbon fibre exterior components, the Drive Analyser data analysis and optimization feature and several other perks.

For customers who desire to make good use of its off-road capability, the the 20” M light alloy wheel Star Spoke 748 M with all-terrain tyres is now available for the 4th generation of the X5 which also sports an eye-catching BMW M logo on a rim finished in sporty matt black. Optional 22 inch M Performance wheels about 1kg lighter than comparable wheels of the same size thanks to a special manufacturing technique are also available.

A vast selection of M Performance components with roots in motor racing are available for both the X5’s exterior and interior. They’re finished by hand and sealed with a clear finish from components which give high-gloss polish and an impressive depth effect. Examples include the air intake trim element for the standard bumper and front winglets which visually enhance the front section. It also includes an M Performance steering wheel which ensures secure control due to the extremely high-grip Alcantara handling area with large thumbrests and special underlining to cater for stability.

It also features M Performance Drive Analyser made for those wanting to achieve motor racing optimisation in terms of their own driving style . The data analysis software consists of an OBD stick plugged into an on-board diagnosis socket and a smartphone app that provides drivers with driving dynamics data consisting of extensive and professional logging and analysis options.

Drive Analysis also enables driving data logging and route tracking based on GPS position data and trip recording on a smartphone video camera.
