Chris Cox, a former Facebook executive who famously served as the social media giant’s chief product officer (CPO), is apparently returning to that role at Facebook after stepping down for a year, reportedly due to conflicts with Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg. Cox aptly announced his return in a Facebook post.

Cox first joined Facebook way back in 2005, just one year after the company’s founding. He was one of Facebook’s first 15 software engineers and was instrumental in coming up with some of Facebook’s key features, most notably the News Feed. Before becoming Facebook’s chief product officer, he served as the company’s Director of Human Resources. Officially, Cox became Facebook’s first chief product officer in 2014. He stepped down in March of 2019 and is apparently now back at the position after a one-year hiatus.
