Daimler has unveiled a new electric and urban concept to celebrate its 20th anniversary at the Paris Motor Show through an outing of an ingenious concept which offers a simple solution for urban mobility.
The concept is seated under the open sky with the driver being at the centre of the hustle and bustle of the city which they can freely partake in thanks to its electric drive. Its openness and minimalistic style reflect a tribute to the pioneering smart concept vehicles “crossblade” (2001) and “forspeed” (2011).

It stands for emotionality, lifestyle and attitude as described by Daimler who owes the individualistic awe of the vehicle to the extension of its interior to the open environment. It packs radiant, dramatic metallic-white and colour accents in “stream green” for the promise of a carefree driving experience exempted from accord yet in line with its surroundings.

“The smart forease embodies a refreshingly simple form of driving fun in the city, standing for urban electric mobility without compromise – because, if in doubt, smart always opts for a consistent approach. The result is a sustainable driving experience built on freedom,” Katrin Adt, new Head of smart from October said in a statement.
“The smart forease is proof that smart thinks unconventionally. Its design is reduced and pure,” Gorden Wagener, Daimler’s Chief Design Officer also stated “The smart forease is a statement of urbanity and individual style. It has the coolness of the metropolis and demonstrates a truly free spirit.”

The smart forease’s designs brings the smart brand aesthetic to life with a light-heartedness resulting from its unprecedented crafting approach. It focuses on what’s necessary for urban driving enjoyment with manoeuvrability and relaxed openness which exert an emancipating experience for its occupants.
