Druva, a Sunnyvale, California-based cloud storage startup, has laid off employees including its chief technology officer, according to a source familiar with the matter. Alongside the CTO, major engineering directors, engineers, and other personnel across the company were also affected by the layoffs, according to our source. One of Druva’s co-founders is taking up the CTO role as the current one departs.

Druva as a company has raised some $328 million in total funding, including $130 million in a single financing round last year. That round boosted the company’s valuation to about $1 billion. As of the time of that financing round, Druva noted having more than 4,000 enterprise customers.

It’s unclear if Druva’s current layoffs are being carried out for monetary reasons and according to our source, the company didn’t seem to be in a dire financial situation prior to these job cuts.
