Social media juggernaut Facebook has added a cloud gaming feature to its popular social network that’ll now let users play certain games without downloading them. The cloud gaming feature is integrated into Facebook and not a standalone service. It’s part of the Facebook Gaming service that’s used by more than 380 million people each month as reported by the company.

The cloud gaming feature has launched in beta on the Web and Android mobile platform but not on iOS yet. Free-to-play games that’ll be made available for online play this week include Asphalt 9: Legends by Gameloft, WWE SuperCard by 2K Games, PGA TOUR Golf Shootout by Concrete Software, and Dirt Bike Unchained by Red Bull.

For the first time, Facebook has introduced custom player names and gaming-themed avatars instead of the use of one’s Facebook profile and full name when playing games. The company has also debuted playable gaming ads on its platform.

Thanks to Facebook’s new cloud gaming feature, game developers can now enable cross-play between the downloaded version of their game and the cloud version on Facebook.
