By tomorrow, the 3rd of June, Apple would be kicking off this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), bringing together 5,000 people from 86 countries at the City of San José. The event will run 4 days from the 3rd-7th of June at the McEnery Convention Center. This year’s event marks Apple’s 30th WWDC conference.

Apple has been on a tear as of late, releasing several new products including a new iPod Touch, a new game subscription service, a new credit card in partnership with Goldman Sachs, a new news subscription service, Apple TV+, two new iPads, a new set of AirPods and a new iMac. This hints the company may have several interesting announcements earmarked for this year’s WWDC.

One big one is that Apple could be shutting down iTunes after 18 years in operation, hinted by the company’s removal of all content from the iTunes’ Facebook and Instagram pages. If this happens, it’ll mark an end to a nearly two-decade running app that has been part of Apple’s core services. Co-incidentally, this is just a few moments after three customers accused Apple of selling iTunes listening data of its users in a federal court case.

Apple in an official statement, has said this year’s WWDC “will deliver the latest Apple news from the keynote stage and celebrate the breakthrough work of developers who are creating new experiences in areas including machine learning, augmented reality, health and fitness, and more.” This year’s program will include hands-on-labs, technical sessions and guest speakers to cater to Apple’s existing developer community.

One can look forward to what Apple has in store for this year’s event.
