Cloud computing company Nutanix has announced the appointment of a new board member by the name of Virginia Gambale, who currently also serves on the boards of other companies including JetBlue Airways, Regis Corporation, and software firm First Derivatives. Gambale’s appointment coincides with the resignation of Mike Scarpelli, notably Snowflake Computing’s chief financial officer, from Nutanix’s board. Before now, Gambale had served as an advisor to Nutanix via Azimuth Partners, a strategic advisory firm that she chairs.

In Gambale lies a seasoned and experienced executive in both the tech and financial worlds. Her previous experiences include management positions at the likes of Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, and venture capital firm ABS Ventures. Altogether, she has served on more than 20 public and private boards.

“Virginia’s innovative thinking, her experience in using technology to drive corporate strategy and her insight from her vast experience in serving on many diverse boards has already been invaluable to us as an advisor,” Nutanix CEO Dheeraj Pandey said in a statement. “I am excited to have her on our board and know that her insight and advice will help us in the next stage of our company’s evolution as we continually reinvent ourselves for the benefit of our customers,” he said.
