Chinese gaming giant Tencent is in talks to acquire Leyou, a publicly-traded Chinese gaming firm that’s been behind several major hits. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Tencent has entered into an exclusive agreement with Leyou for potential privatization, as indicated by a recent exchange filing from Hong Kong-traded Leyou. Financial details on a potential deal weren’t provided. Currently (as of writing), Leyou has a market cap of about $1.1 billion.

Tencent’s exclusive agreement with Leyou is valid for three months. Other potential suitors including gaming giant Sony are said to have looked at acquiring Leyou.
