As made known by CEO Elon Musk, electric car maker Tesla has indefinitely delayed its annual shareholder meeting for this year due to a current ban on large gatherings at the region where the meeting was scheduled to hold. Musk made this known in a response tweet to a Twitter user who asked if the company’s recently unveiled Cybertruck would be present at the meeting. “Not sure of new date, but am guessing maybe a month or so later,” Musk said in a tweet.
Yes, but we will have to postpone annual shareholder meeting, as still no large gatherings allowed by July 7th. Not sure of new date, but am guessing maybe a month or so later.— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 20, 2020
Tesla fans also seem to be very curious about the company’s “Battery Day” event, where it’s expected to present the results of a secret mass-scale battery production project. As to that, Musk said that the event may be combined with Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting and that he was “hopeful we can announce a date after the July 4th week.”
Probably good to combine them, since they are converging in time. I’m hopeful we can announce a date after the July 4th week.— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 20, 2020
In other Tesla news, the electric car maker is seeking up to $68 million in tax incentives from a Texas school district in order to build a factory that the company has promised will create more than 5,000 jobs in the district.
