For Warframe, the open-world title developed by Digital Extremes, The Fortuna in-game landscape was introduced at the video game’s annual TennoCon annual convention bringing what counts as an undeground hub city for players to explore in-game.

The Fortuna in-game update is scheduled for release this winter and will pack gameplay in a location where where humans who have replaced body parts with robotic ones work tirelessly in repressive debt. These people, the Solaris United Faction require the help of main character Tenno to take on their missions while they lead down the lore path of society in conflict.

Tenno will earn standing reputation with them by going up against the Corpus which in turn opens up new weapon upgrades, missions and unlock deeper secrets to their dark story. The planet’s surface, The Orb Vallis, is much different than Fortuna the city. Clouds of blue and orange emanate from terraforming towers and roil across the sky to create a foreign, fantastical feel.

Prominent jagged cliffs and mountainsides also cascade into valleys filled with towering mushrooms, alien flora, and a mixture of Corpus bases and ancient Orokin manufacturing plants. Massive robot spiders, crawling across and patrolling key structures also loom in the distance.

There are so many vast options and adventures during gameplay which include the ability to track, tranq and save sweet, harmless, endangered creatures from extinction. The update features a new transportation option, the Bondi K-Drive, a fast and powerful hoverboard that enables exploration of the landscape (which is about 3-4 times bigger than the already big Plains of Eidolon in-game landscape). With it, one can learn tricks, enter into K-Drive races, and go deep in the far reaches of the Orb Vallis in search of resources, hidden stuff and other secrets.

All along, the player will build up Warframe and weapons to take on the the treacherous “prophet of profit” Nef Anyo who runs the environment. Whether alone or with 3 other Tenno, The player will challenge and pummel his ground and air forces to aid the Solaris from their ailment and restore balance to the universe.
