Travel Technology startup Headout known for its provision of short-notice bookings for various tourists through its app and online site has now raised $10 million in its second round of funding from Nexus Venture Partners and Version One Ventures.
This funding round stands as the largest and majority raised by the company so far which has taken a total of $12 million in investment since its start 2014 and will be geared towards the company’s expansion with a planned launch of 100 more cities on its service in addition to the one’s currently available now including Dubai, San Francisco, London, Singapore, Paris and its home-base New York in addition to 15 others.
Headout which currently counts offices across New York, Bangalore, London, Dubai and Berlin will be expanding its team as it boost up the number of cities on its platform with this investment.
Headout states that it’s increased its revenues by a multiple of 8 in the last 12 months and is profitable which represents a very good metric for the startup.
With the travel tech market being very competitive, Headout would be entering a market dominated by major players including Airbnb, TripAdvisor and a series of others in the market which counts tens of heavily funded startups and several Unicorns.
