Uber has received approval from the state of Pennsylvania to resume self-driving tests on public roads nine months after a fatal crash suspended the program. Last month, Uber said it planned to resume testing with more safety measures like enabling of automatic braking, two employees in the front seat and stricter monitoring of drivers put in place.

Uber has said it planned to begin testing a “a handful” of autonomous cars on a journey between its two Pittsburgh offices, This is a downsize from its previous operation where it tested lots of self-driving vehicles with a single driver in front.

According to Uber Spokeswoman Sarah Abboud, its self-driving cars will not operate in wet weather or at night and will move with a speed limit of 25 miles per hour. Plans to transport passengers in its robo-cars have also been put down.
