The i40 is now equipped with new Hyundai SmartSense active safety and driver assistance features which provides for better and protective use for the driver. Its Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) feature alerts the driver to emergency situations and brakes autonomously if required.
Through the use of camera sensors, It operates in 3 stages; a first initial warning for the driver visually and acoustically, a control of the brake according to the collision danger level and an application of maximum braking force to avoid a collision or minimise damage when a collision is unavoidable. This system is activated when a vehicle is sensed in front of the car on operation of speeds of at least 10km/h.
