Angi Homeservices — the publicly traded company behind HomeAdvisor, Angie’s List, MyHammer, Fixd Repair and several other home service brands — has named Oisin Hanrahan, a co-founder of Handy, which it acquired last year, as its new chief product officer. Angi purchased Handy last year in a deal reported to be worth up to $164 million. Handy had raised $111 million in funding prior to its acquisition.
Handy operates a marketplace that connects home service professionals with people that require their services. It’s available in 2,000 locations across the U.S. and three other countries. Hanrahan co-founded Handy in 2012 and has served as its CEO up until now. “During the acquisition and integration of Handy, I have been enormously impressed with Oisin’s product vision, entrepreneurial energy, and leadership skills,” Angi’s CEO, Brandon Ridenour, said in a statement.
“The products that win are simple, functional and, above all, effective. Oisin took a powerful idea — connecting customers to quality housecleaning and handymen professionals online — and created a far better experience than was previously thought possible. I am looking forward to all of our brands benefiting from his drive, determination, insights and product leadership.” Ridenour said.
Hanrahan’s appointment as chief product officer comes just ahead of Angi’s Q2 earnings call, which is scheduled to hold tomorrow.
