Plus.ai, a self-driving truck startup with operations in the U.S. and China, is in talks to raise $60 million in new funding to be led by Guotai Junan International, a Hong Kong-based investment and securities firm, as first reported by news site The Information [paywall]. The funding would value Plus.ai at between $600 million to $1 billion, The Information reports. It isn’t clear how much Plus.ai has raised since its inception but the company was last year reported having been on the cusp of $200 million in funding. It’s not certain if that investment came to fruition.
Although headquartered in Silicon Valley, Plus.ai also has operations in China. The company was founded in 2016 by a group of entrepreneurs with more than two decades of experience in the technology industry. Plus.ai works with truck manufacturers, large shippers, and top fleet operators across the U.S. and China.
