HP has taken another shot at re-inventing the PC style with a new laptop dubbed the HP Spectre Folio made out of leather and built on the success of conventional laptops designed primarily for specific productivity tasks or scenarios.
The Spectre Folio is built with exquisite craftsmanship with HP embracing what it says is “manucrafturing” where carefully and detailedly designed hardware meets handcrafted materials. The new device features a 100 percent chromed tan, full-grain leather which plays an important functional role for users.

It’s crafted with a durable material which enables for a natural hinge and flexible chassis which sets a breakthrough new form factor packed with a timeless aesthetic appeal, accented stitching and precision edging which outputs a sophisticated and luxurious quality form mainly associated with fashion and is now finding its way to the PC.
In addition to being intuitively designed, The Spectre Folio is made for easy use by HP with its simpler and seamless transitions to multiple positions. With one hand, The light device moves easily from a traditional laptop position typically used for productivity to a tent position which neatly tucks away the keyboard for sturdier support on the lap and to tablet position with a built-in tilt for intuitive inking.

These seamless use and engineering methods is made possible by strategically placed magnets coupled with its leather’s unique flexibility to act as a natural hinge. The Spectre Folio is equipped with one of the smallest motherboards in the PC scene to enable for its ultra-lightness and design which capitalizes on 8th Gen Intel Core i5 and i7 (Y-series) processors.

It’s innovative fanless thermal design complements the unique qualities of leather to create an experience which feels both cool and comfortable on the user’s lap. Other notable features include up to 16 GB of memory, up to 2 TB of SSD storage and either a 300-nits FHD display or a low-power, 1W 400-nits FHD option which provides for excellent viewing in any lighting conditions.

With all these unique and ideal features, The HP Spectre Folio comes at a starting price of $1,299 for Intel Core i5 version and $1,499 for the Intel Core i7 version with pre-orders already open and a launch at select Best Buy stores set for the 29th of October.
