As part of its on-going unveiling of new products, Lenovo has teamed up with Disney to release “Star Wars: Jedi Challenges – Dark Side Expansion” a new free content update to the Jedi Challenges AR experience which allows players to take on new challenges as dark side warrior Kylo Ren known for his unconventional lightsaber.
In line with this celebration, Lenovo has now unveiled a limited edition real life Lightsaber Controller modeled after Kylo’s iconic weapon from the films. This new controller along with the update will be available starting from next month to consumers.

This marks another notable addition by Lenovo as it reveals new products at the ongoing IFA 2018 event which includes a new ultra-thin and light laptop, The C930, Another addition to its ThinkPad ecosystem, the ThinkPad X1 Extreme and several other smart products.

“Following popular demand for new experiences on Star Wars: Jedi Challenges, we’re excited to continue collaborating with Disney to expand the Lenovo Mirage™ augmented reality platform and deliver two new one-of-a-kind gameplay experiences for fans.”
The new Dark side release marks as the third free update since the launch of the smartphone powered augmented reality Star Wars experience November last year. This new expansion includes new content for Lightsaber battles enabling players to get in fights with the likes of Yoda, Rey and other popular Star Wars characters armed with Kylo’s weapon.

To make use of the new Lightsaber Controller and the new update, a full Star Wars: Jedi Challenges starter kit is required and sold separately with the kit containing the Lenovo Mirage AR headset, The new controller and a tracking beacon. A compatible smartphone and the latest free to download Jedi Challenges app is also entailed.
