After launching to widespread anticipation and acclaim, Take-Two Interactive, The parent company of Red Dead Redemtpion 2 developer Rockstar Games has revealed it’s shipped over 17 million copies of the title in just 12 days after its release, raising revenue forecast and indicating stunning sales for the new release.

This figure includes the amount purchased by retailers, not just individual customer purchases but nevertheless marks a stunning record for the company also behind the previous GTA V blockbuster. Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold more in its first 2 weeks of release than the original installment did in 8 years.

Thanks to ongoing sales of the likes of GTA V and also NBA 2K, Take-Two reported estimates beating sales for Q2. It’s increased its projections for full year revenue to between $2.8 billion and $2.9 billion.

Red Dead Redemption 2 stands as the most pre-ordered full game ever on PlayStation Network,and holds records for the biggest first three days full game sales ever on PlayStation Network and also the biggest day one full game sales ever on PlayStation Network with over $725 million revenue recorded on its opening weekend.
