The all-new Ford Ranger with lots of high-performance features including 1,860 pounds of maximum payload, a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, a towing capability of 7,500 pounds and 310 lb.-ft. of torque is now set for production start scheduled to kick off later this year at Ford’s Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan.

The new mid-size truck is built to deliver best-in-class payload, gas torque and towing capability as indicated by its features listed in the first paragraph. Its 1,860 pounds of maximum payload enables for carriage of a whole lot of gear while its 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine beats the V6 gasoline engines coming from conventional mid-size trucks.

It’s towing capability of 7,500 pounds makes it a good assist and a potential favorite for getting campers to their sites, boats to the slip and other forms of towing movement.

“Think of Ranger as the biggest and most capable backpack for your gear,” says Rick Bolt, Ford Ranger chief engineer. “With 1,860 pounds of maximum payload, Ranger can haul nearly a ton of gear to enable your next adventure.”

The all-new Ranger is paired with a class-exclusive 10-speed transmission and features a unique combination of power and capability. The 7,500 pounds towing ability stated by Ford would make it the best in its class for movement of other vehicles from places to places. This towing ability is made possible by a high-strength steel frame and robust solid rear axle with Hotchkiss suspension.
