Toyota has announced plans to bring a fleet of 338 vehicles including its popular Prius vehicle among others for official use during the Youth Olympic Games holding in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires as part of a new mobility service it’s taking to the city.

Dubbed “Toyota Mobility Services”, The company will be offering transportation amenities to attendees of the event holding from the 6th to 18th of October.

Toyota is currently participating in the Youth Olympic torch race which began on the 5th of August with the build of a Hilux pick-up truck which is transporting the Olympic Torch to 17 different Argentine cities on 14,000-km, 60-day journey scheduled to ramp up on the 6th of October.

The journey will culminate at the renowned Obelisk monument in Buenos Aires and will be part of the event’s opening ceremony. Toyota will also be presenting mobility offerings at two of the four Olympic Park venues based in the city, The Green Park and Technópolis Park based on each park’s own concept.

The Green Park is centered on activities related to caring for the environment while the Technópolis Park will feature an exhibition of the Concept-i Series, a taste of what Toyota will be showcasing in on-the-road test demonstrations in Tokyo 2020 main Olympics event.

Coming for the Technópolis Park is the showcase of the TOYOTA Concept-i, TOYOTA Concept-i RIDE and TOYOTA Concept-i WALK vehicles in addition to interactive installations which demonstrates Toyota’s “Mobility for All” concept and AI tech currently in development.

“Toyota Mobility Services”, the new car renting service platform being introduced by Toyota stands as a pioneer for Argentina’s automotive industry which will be officially introduced to the public in November and also comes as a unique step in Toyota’s aim of transformation from a car company to a mobility company.
