Auto giant Audi is now opening reservations for its first all-electric SUV, The e-tron which will be unveiled globally on the 17th of September while reservations unlocks for customers who will be giving the details needed to configure their vehicles while taking on a booking with a refundable $1,000 reservation fee.

Audi has already began production of the e-tron quattro all-electric SUV at its Brussels factory with operations ramping up in recent months after a long time of preparation.

This new SUV includes integrated digital tools, in-home charging solutions and the support of Audi of America’s 303 dealer partners enabling customer confidence with its full product ecosystem.

Aimed at the premium market, The 5 passenger sport utility vehicle features progressive design, advanced digital and electric technology with driving dynamics and build quality expected of a high-end vehicle.

“We’re introducing a premium, customer-centric vehicle in a premium, customer-centric way,” said Scott Keogh, president of Audi of America. “With our owners and our dealers, this process allows us to offer transparency from reservation and build all the way through delivery.”

The e-tron is anticipated for delivery to showrooms by next year with the new vehicle being part and first of the three battery-electric vehicles Audi plans to debut by 2020. The German automobile manufacturer also anticipates nearly 30% of its customers in the U.S. going electric by 2025.
