Audi has designed what counts as its first concept car for an animated film dubbed the Audi RSQ e-tron and created for the upcoming “Spies in Disguise” animated movie developed by 20th Century Fox and scheduled for release September next year.

The virtual fully battery-electric model is designed in collaboration Blue Sky Studios and is unique for its combination of automated driving with artificial intelligence and transformational technology. It’ll be driven by super-spy Lance Sterling, the movie main character voiced by actor Will Smith.

The two-seater concept vehicle comes with a hologram speedometer, electric mobility and fully automated driving technology and entails the design language of the Audi brand. Super-spy Lance Sterling requires a performance car that completes his prowess in the movie with the RSQ e-tron providing just that for him.

Along with its Audi assistance systems and a fully automated driving mode, the virtual concept car comes with several features for secret agents.

“At Audi Design, we combine state-of-the-art digital visualization techniques with handmade precision. These processes enable us to implement futuristic design ideas with the same precision in the development of a fictional virtual concept vehicle such as the RSQ e-tron.” Audi head of Exterior Design for Concept Vehicles Frank Rimili stated.

“Audi and Fox have been great collaborators over the years and we’re thrilled to evolve our relationship, bringing Audi into the world of animation for the first time. This project was the perfect opportunity to highlight Audi’s e-tron technology and give our intrepid spy, Lance Sterling, his own signature spy mobile” vice president of Marketing Partnerships for Twentieth Century Fox Film Erin Williams also said.

Audi will also work with Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios to produce an additional custom animated content piece to be released next year featuring movie characters Lance Sterling and scientist Walter Beckett, voiced by actor Tom Holland.
