The Wilkinson Baking Company debuted a first-of-this kind, fully automated bread baking machine capable of dishing 10 loaves an hour while operating on up to a 24 hour duty cycle at the Consumer Electronics Show. The new machine dubbed Breadbot goes from flour to loaf all on its own, with new loafs produced every 6 minutes, time to first completed loaf standing at 90 minutes and a maximum of 235 loafs produced daily.

This happens while requiring 30 minutes for daily cleaning, Wilkinson says. It says retailers making use of the Breadbot can benefit from a potential 20-fold lift in bottom line profit margins through termination of costly bread distribution processes and also benefit from increased consumer interest that’ll arise from use of the machine.

The Breadbot can be scheduled to start baking ahead of opening hours by Grocers which would give a head-start on daily production demands. The machine which the Wilkinson Baking Company says is more automated than a $75 million bread factory mixes, forms, proofs, bakes and cools most varieties of bread that require dry ingredients like honey oat, sourdough, whole wheat, white, wheat and nine grain, the bread can also be organic if preferred.

“Bread is a staple of American life. But in most supermarkets today, it has lost its emotional connection with the shopper,” Wilkinson CEO Randall Wilkinson said. “In the age of home delivery, The BreadBot attracts consumers back to the store because it delivers fresh, delicious bread that is produced with theater and engagement. We’re so excited to bring CES back to basics with The BreadBot this year and to demonstrate how we have increased a retailers’ bread sales by more than 30 percent while also decreasing the environmental impact.”
