Mercedes has now began production of its four-door Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé luxury vehicle at the Mercedes-Benz plant Sindelfingen as it set its sights on delivering the vehicle in stated time while furthering the GT success story.

With the vehicle now in production and integrated into running operations at plant Sindelfingen’s Building 36, It’s set to benefit from the experience of Mercedes employees and proven quality processes concerning its vehicle production channels.

The production of the high-end vehicle was jointly agreed with Daimler’s works council as part of its transformation plan inked 4 years ago with Daimler setting its sights on investing 1.5 billion Euros in the Mercedes-Benz plant Sindelfingen by 2020 as part of its plans of cementing its future.

The auto giant is also putting another 600 million euros into R&D at the Sindelfingen plant thereby boosting its investments while enabling an environment for discovery of new breakthroughs in the automobile space.

Following the SLS AMG and the AMG GT vehicles developed in-house by Mercedes-AMG, The AMG GT Coupé is the 3rd sports car being prepared for push into the market while packed with longitudinal and lateral dynamics as well as a sleek profile with classic proportions just like its two-door brothers.

“The production of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé at the Mercedes-Benz plant Sindelfingen corroborates the importance and the flexibility of the location. Our team is highly motivated and excited to continue writing the GT-success story with their own know-how und experience. At the same time, the production start-up is an important component in the transformation plan agreed with the works council in 2014”, Mercedes’ Michael Bauer stated.

And this totally new model is going to play its part in this regard”, Ergun Lümali, the Deputy Chairman of the General Works Council at Daimler also added.
