Major movie distributor and producer Netflix has now began gradually testing a new subscription option “Ultra” which comes at a higher price but doesn’t affect the prices of current plans in a new move which has seen the company offering its “Ultra” subscription service for a higher price than the Premium range which right now is going for $14.99 in comparison with the premium which is being offered for $11.99 right now.
The test has not been rolled out to all subscribers yet and is currently being offered at various price points with some users in the European region getting a price of €16.99 and the number of screens being able to watch at the same time decrease to 2 for the users in that region.
As observed in the photo above, This new plan is going to offer streaming of highest quality audio along with Ultra HD video for its new subscribers.
Netflix confirmed to CNET earlier about this new plan with a statement from a Netflix spokeswoman stating that “We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time,” She continued “In this case, we are testing slightly different price points and features to better understand how consumers value Netflix.”
We would now get to see how several users around the world will respond to this price change as Netflix makes some adjustments to its operations in a bid to offer more content and gain better revenues as it continually upgrades its service and vast entertainment network.
