Assure Lever image : Yale

Smart lock maker Yale has expanded its Assure Lock line of smart locks with the introduction of Assure Lever, a new smart lever lock designed for single-hole doors from basements, garages, interior rooms, side entries and more. The new smart lock is the first non-deadbolt option in the Assure Lock series and comes in two models – a push button keypad (YRL236) and capacitive touchscreen (YRL256).

The key-free levers can be unlocked from an entry code on its keypad and can be used as either standalone locks or smart locks that can be fully integrated into a smart home or alarm system with the addition of Connected by August, an app offered by smart lock maker and Yale sister company August that enables voice recognition, control from a smartphone the ability to know if a door is not only locked or unlocked but also if it’s closed or opened.

Z-Wave Plus or Zigbee Yale Smart Module can also be added for full integration into a smart home or alarm system. Smart Modules for Control4 and Crestron home automation systems will also be launched sometime this year.

Since a partnership between Yale and August (both owned by Swedish lock manufacturer Assa Abloy) rolled out September last year, The two versions of the new Assure Lever mark the fourth and fifth pieces of hardware produced by Yale to be linked with August’s platform, The other three being the Assure Lock SL, Assure Lock Touchscreen and Assure Lock Keypad.

The Assure Lever will be available in three different finishes – satin nickel, polished brass, and oil-rubbed bronze starting from Spring 2019 (March 20).
